Uist Holiday Cottage 5 star luxury self catering accommodation, set in outstanding natural beauty of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The hebridean cottage is a Category B listed building which has been meticulously renovated preserving its traditional characteristics including a turf and marram grass thatch roof which is unique to the Hebrides, but has all modern facilities including fibre optic wi-fi, spa bath, large king size four poster bed and peat burning stove.  Our Outer Hebrides self catering accommodation is environmentally sustainable and has been completed to the highest standards making it the perfect setting.

Set in the village of Iochdar, on the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, the self catering accommodation is only minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean.  There are stunning white sandy beaches within walking distance stretching for 20 miles along the west coast of South Uist.  The Hebridean island of South Uist really is the idyllic escape from urban living.  The village of Iochdar is  located in a quiet crofting community situated on the north end of South Uist, making it the ideal location for exploring North Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay, South Uist, Berneray, Eriskay and Barra.

The cottage is surrounded by a profusion of wildlife, the rasping call of the elusive corncrake can be heard from the doorstep from April onwards.  The white tailed eagle, golden eagle, plovers, cornbunting, short eared owls, hen harriers, various wading birds, seals and sea otters as well as a wide variety of native species can be seen in one of the worlds most pristine and protected environments.

It is centrally located  to unwind and enjoy the peaceful and scenic surroundings in this wonderful archipelago of Scottish Islands.

Thank you Katie for the lovely welcome and all the treats!  We have had an amazing time touring around the islands.  Lovely long walks on the beaches and watching the wildlife.  This our second visit looking forward to our next stay at Corrodale Cottage.

We have had the most amazing time, thank you so much.  The cottage is wonderful, enjoyed the local beaches (great seal watching at the end of Gualain spit) Our top tips – Berneray West Beach (amazing) Take the ferry to Barra, beaches Barra/Vatersay also amazing.  Otter spotting (and beautiful walk) at Locheynort, walk up Ruabhal on Benbecula ( the views are amazing too) Best North Uist beach trips were Udal Peninsula (Sollas) and Baleshare Islands.  Take the B890 for lovely walks at Loch Skipport and Loch Druidibeg.  For boat trips David at Uist Sea Tours – saw lots of dolphins and golden eagles.
